What does summer time mean to you and your dog?
Hiding from the heat (she's a snow dog), going on adventures whenever possible - she loves road trips.
What are five (5) words that best describe your dog?
Confident, dominant, gentle, loving, protective
What are your favourite things to do with your dog?
Long walks in new places, playing with balls, cuddling on the couch
How would you describe your relationship with your dog?
It's a trusting relationship of mutual understanding and respect. And lots of love.
What do you love most about your dog?
Her intelligence - she has outsmarted me on more than one occasion!
Tell me about your dog.
Akira came into my life out of nowhere one night when I was walking my dog (who has now passed away). She was over 3 years old and her owners needed a new home for her. We adopted her without hesitation and have not looked back. Being an Akita this was not easy for her. She is very clever and emotional so some of her life events such as changing families and losing her partner dog, have impacted her ability to cope with being alone. She has separation anxiety. She loves our cats. She is fierce and if she feels that any members of the family are in danger she will act immediately. More than anything, she is a gentle, curious dog who just loves being around people who love her.
