From Inquiry to Delivery: What You Need To Know | Sydney Pet Photographer

Booking a professional pet photography session isn't a normal occurrence for most people. In fact, booking any type of professional photos is not what happens in an average day usually.

Because of this, I would like to demystify the process a little bit and take you behind the scenes of my pet photography client process.

This will hopefully answer some of the questions you may have about booking a pet photographer, that perhaps my website hasn't answered for you yet.

I've broken it down into four sections for you:

If you've never booked a pet photography session for your furbaby before before you may be a little unsure of how the process works. This post, From Inquiry To Product Delivery: What You Need To Know, shares with my client process from start to fini…

1.  BOOKING YOUR SESSION

Contact Me - Head to the contact page of my website and fill in the form to get started. Here you can tell me a little more about your pet(s) and the session you want to book or if you just want to ask a few questions, I'm more than happy to help you.

I totally rock my inbox so you can expect a response within 24hrs during the work week.

Or if you prefer a phone call - just leave your number in the phone field in the form and I'll give you a call so we can chat.

Sometimes a quick phone call is the best way to get to know each other, see if we're a good fit and go over any pre-booking questions about the portrait process, available dates and locations you may have.

My Booking Proposal - Once we've established the best session for your needs, I'll send over your Booking Proposal.

This is a convenient online form where you can choose your session type, your session date and time, sign the contract and pay the session fee.

And the best part of this is the fact you can do it while you're wearing your pyjamas and lounging in front of the tv, watching Fixer Upper.

[Your session date and time isn't confirmed until you have fully completed the Booking Proposal, including signing the contract and paying the invoice].

2. BEFORE YOUR SESSION

Your Pre-Session Questionnaire - After you complete the Booking Proposal, you’ll be emailed a questionnaire to fill out.

The questionnaire helps me to get to know both you and your pet before the session. There are a variety of questions on there that will help me to customise the session to you and your pets needs, so this an important step.

You can fill in as much or as little as you want of this (required fields are asterisked) but remember that this helps me to get to know your pet's, customise your shoot to your needs, find out your goals, lockdown a location for your session and review options for products and what you want in your home. So the more you can fill out the better it is.

Emails - Since this is likely the first time you've had professional photographs taken with your pet, I like to send a few emails with some tips and tricks before your session date to help you.
So keep an eye on your inbox for those.

Session Reminder Emails - I know how busy my own email inbox can be so I like to help my clients out by providing them with helpful date reminders throughout.

Sent one to two days before your session and your Ordering Appointment, is an email that includes the date, time and location of your appointment. So you can access it quickly and easily.

Client Portal - Once you've booked your session with me you are also given access to your client portal. This is your personal portal that contains all of your information regarding your session.

You'll find copies of any emails sent, portrait agreement and booking proposal as well as the complete price list.

You'll be able to access all of the information you need in one convenient spot and you won't have to go back and dig through piles of information to find what you need.

3. THE SESSION

The Session - Your session is where the really fun stuff starts!

I'll initially get everyone comfortable with some introductions and play time and then we let the session unfold naturally.

You can read more about the what happens during a session here. It gives you all of the behind the scenes information.

4. AFTER YOUR SESSION

After Session Email - I'll send you an email the day after you session that includes all of the details we spoke about the day before. I'll go over what happens next, when you can expect to view your photos and how you can order your package.

Online Gallery - Your online gallery should be ready for viewing two weeks after your session.
Here you can view your images for the first time, pick your favourites and choose which Digital Package you would like to purchase. there's a choice of 3 different packages and you can read all about them over here.

Delivery - After you've chosen and paid for your Digital Package online, I'll do the final edits on the images (removing leashes and cleaning up eye goobers) and then send you a link to download your final files.

You should expect your final digital files 2 weeks after payment. Your prints will also be posted out to you during this time frame. I'll keep you updated during the entire process via email so you'll always know what's going on.

So there you have it - my client process. This is what you can expect when you book a professional pet photography session with me.

Hopefully this has answered some of your questions but if not, you can always contact me here. I'm happy to help in any way that I can.
