Connie + Petal - Day 22 of the Dog Days of Summer | Sydney Pet Photographer

Fawn coloured greyhound rescue dog, Petal stands next to her owner in Sydney Park for her professional pet photography session during the Dog Days of Summer with Pawtastic Photography

Petal is a 4 year old ex-racer, adopted greyhound

What does summer time mean to you and your dog?

We have been taking Petal to the beach (which is all new to her) and she is  cautious but very curious. However, Queen Petal will happily spend the day lounging on her throne [bed] under air conditioning, while her human servants bring her cold towels and frozen strawberries. Tough life!

What are five (5) words that best describe your dog?

Chilled, lazy, sweet, sensitive, friendly, curious, hungry (always!) - sorry that's more than 5, oops.

What are your favourite things to do with your dog?

Training/engaging with her, snuggling, watching her watching me, seeing her run around (freeeeedom), and this may sound really weird but it's an amazing feeling when your greyhound pees and poops outside on command. I feel so proud every time!

Rescue greyhound, Petal cuddles up to her owner and poses in Sydney Park against a green backdrop of grass and trees for some photos during her Dog Days of Summer professional photoshoot with Pawtastic Photography, a Sydney based Pet Photographer

How would you describe your relationship with your dog?

My greyhound adopted me.

What do you love most about your dog?

Her excitement when I come home every day. Her trust in me.

Tell me about your dog.

Petal is an ex-racer who now lives a life of luxury in Sydney. Her days are mostly spent  sleeping, napping, eating and getting pats. She can be very playful but this only occurs once every few days. It lasts for  an intense few minutes, followed by a 5 hour nap to recover.  She is the most placid, gentle and sweet dog - great with children too. She's confident and sassy, and not really phased by much. We've recently discovered Petal is NOT a fan of fireworks. On NYE, after seeing her so stressed during the 9pm fireworks, we decided to go for a drive during the midnight fireworks. Music blaring, aircon blasting, we spend NYE at Maccas drive-thru getting New Years treats for Petal (and for us). Everybody was happy.

Thank you Connie and Petal for taking part in the Dog Days of Summer!
