This is a concern ALL of my clients share and I understand completely. But honestly, your dog doesn't have to be a superstar at sitting in order for me to get great images for you. In fact, some of the best photos I’ve taken for clients are when your pet is truly being themselves. If that means they are bouncy and energetic then bouncy and energetic is what I’ll work with. Nothing makes me happier than seeing the true nature of your pet and capturing it for you.
Don’t fear. It's safety first at Pawtastic Photography so for the majority of a shoot the dog will remain on a lead. Generally it only comes off if it’s safe for the animal and the owner is okay with it. The majority of images with leads in them will be removed in post production when I edit the photos, unless the removal will throw off the aesthetic of the portrait, so you won’t see the lead in the finished photographs.
Because I want to provide you and your pet with the best possible experience and gorgeous photos then if the session day arrives and it is bad weather (this includes rain, high wind & heat) then I am happy to reschedule the session. Both sunny and overcast conditions are perfect for photo sessions.
That's completely up to you. The session is focused on your pet so the majority of photos are just of them but you can definitely jump in for a few too, if you're comfortable with that. Personally, I love it when the parents want to be in the photos as you can really see the bond and love you share with your furry family member but it's completely up to YOU. Another popular choice is for a more artistic image where you aren't completely in the frame. For example, I can show your hand stroking their fur, your legs as your dog sits next to you, an image of the two of you facing away from the camera to look out at a view. These types of images allow you to show that connection you share with your pet without the focus being on you - and are some of my clients most popular photos.
Fill in the contact form on my website or email me at hello @ pawtastic.com.au and if you're ready to book, I'll send you a link to my online booking portal where you can choose your session, the date, sign the contract and pay the session retainer.
Don't worry, your pet doesn't have to be perfectly posed that whole time. The reason the session runs for 1-2 hours is so that we can work to your pet's pace and take play breaks in between photo sets so that your pet doesn't become bored. We'll start out slowly with me getting to know your pets and letting them get warmed up to me and my camera. And then we'll let the session unfold. They'll be a mixture of posed portraits, candid moments and action shots. You don't need to worry about anything, I'll direct you if I need something specific otherwise it's about having fun with your pet!
Having too many people can be very distracting for animals so I prefer to limit the number of people and pets to only the ones being photographed at the session.
